Private Lessons Monthly Billing Rates

Based on either four or two per month
Weekly Lessons of 30 minutes - $100
Weekly Lessons of 45 minutes - $150
Weekly Lessons of 60 minutes - $200
Biweekly Lessons of 45 minutes - $75
Biweekly Lessons of 60 minutes - $100

Rates are the same for both studio and online lessons. Payment is due at or before the first lesson of each month. The base rate is $25 per thirty minutes. You may take advantage of the fifth lesson in certain months without an additional charge though. Vacations and Holidays may be negotiated on an individual basis with enough advance notice. The expectation is that students will take advantage of 48 lessons a year.

Student's Responsibilities: Students should arrive at each lesson on time, well prepared, and with all the necessary materials. They must schedule, whenever possible, daily practice without distractions. Beginners should aim for 15 minutes a day, six days a week. Intermediate players should try to devote 30 minutes a day, six days a week. Advanced players often devote 1 to 3 hours a day, every day.

Attendance: Regular attendance is required. Students excel when they are fully engaged. If one must miss a class please provide 24 hour notice if you would like a make-up lesson. Like any college course, the tuition is the same regardless of absences. It will be up to my discretion whether a make-up will be allowed, if that time frame is not respected. If a make-up is not allowed, students will be billed for that lesson. If a make-up is missed there will not be another granted for the original lesson. All make-ups need to scheduled before the time of the next lesson, but may be prearranged to take place before the lesson being made up for. Online make-ups are a very good option. If a slot is available, then time may be added to the lesson immediately before or after an excused absence. Habitual last minute absentees risk being dismissed. If the public schools cancel classes due to bad weather, lessons will be moved online.

Dropping: A minimum of two lesson notice is required for dropping. You will be responsible for any missed lessons plus an additional two more. This is very lenient considering the industry standard is fours weeks. It is recommended that students attend all the lessons they pay for and I am willing to help them out with online lessons if needed, but there will be a charge whether those lessons are attended or not.
